Interstate date – get a taste of Melbourne in Brisbane for one night only

There’s a reason that so many of us Brisbane folk have a big ol’ raging crush on Melbourne – it’s just a really bloody awesome city. Whilst we will always have love for the sunshine state, it doesn’t stop us from drooling over the art, music and food from Victoria’s proud capital. If it’s been a while since your last interstate sojourn, we have some exciting news for you – Melbourne is coming to us! On Wednesday November 29, Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall will be transformed into a micro-version of our coolest southern sibling for Melbourne After Dark.

Popping up for one night only, Melbourne After Dark is pretty much a smorgasbord of all of the new and distinct experiences you can have in the southern city. The finest live tunes, entertainment, street art and culinary experiences from Melbourne have been transported to Brisbane for the occasion, providing a small taste of what you can expect from a holiday to the city. Lefty’s will be decked out to replicate the look and feel of Melbourne, taking aesthetic cues from the iconic laneways you see popping up on your Instagram feed.

So what’s going to be hitting tastebuds at Melbourne After Dark? Let’s just say you should come hungry (and thirsty). Iconic bun-slingers Huxtaburger will be bringing delicious burger creations to the party, while renowned Melbourne bartender Dave Kerr has created a bespoke cocktail called the Beaufort Spritz that will be pouring all night long. The entertainment portion is well taken care of, with a killer line-up of some of the city’s most exciting bands taking to the Lefty’s stage. Melbourne’s very own hip-hop legend Remi and larger-than-life indie pop outfit Saskwatch will be performing live, with rock’n’rollers The Delta Riggs spinning a DJ set to keep the party vibes flowing.

Keen to take a one-night vacay? You can register to attend Melbourne After Dark for free (yasss) through Visit Melbourne.
