The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival returns with a bang to showcase homegrown style

The arrival of spring is such an exciting time in Brisbane, especially for fashion lovers. We shed our layers, emerge from our wintry cocoons and pore over magazines and websites to sate our new-season sartorial appetites. What (and who) will we be falling head over heels for and craving to add to our wardrobes? The seasonal change was missing one crucial element last year – our beloved Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival. After its hiatus, the festival returns to Brisbane from August 27–31 in finer form than ever to showcase the best and brightest in both local and national fashion.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival isn’t just about scoping out the hottest looks coming into spring and summer – it’s a chance for fashion lovers to connect directly with local, national and emerging fashion designers and retailers. The collections you see are the ones that are landing in stores at the same time as the shows, so all of the looks you covet are totally attainable. The runway line-up includes names to the tune of Aje, Alice McCall, Manning Cartell,  Scanlan Theodore and a plethora of luxury brands, as well as another show highlighting names you might not know yet but are bound to develop a bit of a crush on.

One year off and you guys really welcomed the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival back with open arms – tickets to each and every event sold out within a month! Don’t fret just yet, because 2017 sees an awesome first for the festival – you can catch everything from the runway to some exclusive backstage moments via Facebook live streaming. This is the first time in the festival’s history that this initiative has been introduced and it’s set to provide audiences with a front-row experience from the comfort of their own homes. The incomparable Courtney Thorpe, a former Miss World Australia and general media darling will host each of the professionally produced films, giving us the scoop on what’s happening on the runway. What a time to be alive!

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is running from August 27–31 – be sure to check out the official Facebook page so you don’t miss a moment of the action.
