Israeli dance troupe performs Mana at Brisbane Powerhouse

Hailing from the distant shores of Israel, Vertigo Dance Company is set to perform its critically acclaimed work Mana at Brisbane Festival.

Created by choreographer and co-artistic director of Vertigo Dance Company Noa Wetheim, Mana shows off Israel’s leading dance troupe, a testament to the country’s lively and progressive arts scene.

Inspired by Jewish mystical text The Zohar and elements of personal pursuit, Mana takes audiences on a journey of discovering one’s essence. Drawing on elements of Wetheim’s quest to define her personality, Mana showcases inspirational artistic and socially conscious philosophies.

Through a captivating score and circular motif, eight dancers explore the tension between exterior and interior, masculinity and femininity, and an individual’s attempt to reconnect with themselves. Mana is showing as part of Brisbane Festival from September 19–22 at Brisbane Powerhouse.
