Discover a world of Lost Movements in Coniston Lane
A melting pot of music, movement, art and performance, Lost Movements is an evening’s celebration of all things creative, held in the cosy event space of Fortitude Valley’s Coniston Lane.
Visitors will stumble through the door on the night to be welcomed by an arts celebration that is reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s famous factory in the 1970s. Held every two months, the Lost Movements events were forged to showcase the creative talents of locals in one handy location. Previous evenings have included a range of live music acts and live art displays, with this month’s planned to be even bigger and better, having grown to include a wider range of arts, including theatre, spoken word, circus performers and burlesque.
Musical accompaniments for the evening will involve the sounds of nine bands, including The Mouldy Lovers, Pink Fur and the Black Coast and Fred Wood. This will be alongside ten theatrical performances from the likes of Ruby Little and Lillian Lace, and the artistic merits of more than 50 creatives, such as ASIO, Anita Pettinato, Guido Van Helten and more. The night is to be a creative collaboration so visitors are also invited to participate – BYO paint is encouraged, whether for a spot of body art or for you take to canvas. In a creative twist, the entire venue will also be painted black beforehand, so as to provide a blank canvas for all artists and participants of the evening.
