Experience stories told through dance at Bangarra’s lore

The Bangarra Dance Theatre is one of the more accomplished outfits in Australian dance performance. The troupe is bringing its new deeply moving opus, lore, to QPAC from August 7 to 15.

lore is the name of the newest stage performance from Bangarra Dance Theatre, directed by Stephen Page and choreographed by Frances Rings, Deborah Brown and Waangenga Blanco. Like its namesake indicates, lore explores beginnings of traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and in turn comments on the state of the country’s current identity. Environmental issues such as climate change and sustainability are also examined, as is social issues such as racial equality.

Dance theatre fans can catch lore for a limited time only at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and is sure to be a compelling performance of captivating choreography and sublime storytelling. All lore ticket holders are welcome to attend a free Q&A with Bangarra’s Artistic Director Stephen Page and QPAC Scholar-in-Residence Professor Judith McLean after the 6:30 performance on Tuesday August 11.
