Stars come out to play at the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols

Classics never die, and perhaps the most enduring testament to this is the art of Christmas carolling. Nothing else feels quite as festive as belting out your favourite seasonal bangers with a bunch of like-minded strangers, and the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is the perfect opportunity to do just that. Featuring a star-studded line up of musical guests, the carols return to the Riverstage on Saturday December 10 to take your season’s greetings to another level.

The atmosphere in the city on the evening of the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is electric – costumed carollers fill the city and spill through the streets like merry lava, making their way to the iconic Riverstage to watch some of the best and brightest names in Australian showbiz sing much-loved Christmas tunes. Taking to the stage this year is the iconic theatre wonder-woman Rhonda Burchmore and Golden Guitar-winning Melinda Schneider, leading the charge for this beloved family event. Local favourites The Fergies will be opening up the stage with their contagious energy, followed by kids favourite Lah-Lah.

A number of the famous carolling crowd this year are alumni of big time TV shows – Luke Kennedy, Naomi Price and The Koi Boys all launched their now thriving careers on The Voice, while Reece Mastin and Jess & Matt’s turns on The X Factor has made them household names. International guests will be making an appearance, including Joseph Tawadros and Angela Fabian. Although all masters of different genres, the talent that has been rallied for this year’s offering ensures that there will be a great mix for everyone to enjoy.
