Explore the beauty of architecture at Museum of Brisbane’s Living in the city

Both opening on February 19, Museum of Brisbane’s newest exhibitions Living in the city: New architecture in Brisbane & the Asia-Pacific and Kenji Uranishi: Momentary are set to draw crowds.

Living in the city: New architecture in Brisbane & the Asia-Pacific will explore nine of Brisbane’s architectural projects currently underway, along with one project from each of our nine Sister Cities in the Asia-Pacific. Visitors will see some of the region’s most exciting and innovative architectural practice, from immense residential towers and private luxurious homes to state-of-the-art sporting facilities. As part of the exhibition, Australian comedian Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross and musician Kit Warhurst will present an evening of architecture, music and comedy in Man about the museum. Showing at the Dome Lounge on March 11, this one-off show is not to be missed. On March 13, view a panel discussion on the topic A world built by men and women. Join the panelists as they discuss the ever-growing changes in the architecture industry and the women behind them.

Showing simultaneously will be Momentary, featuring a handcrafted series of ceramic works by Japanese-born ceramicist Kenji Uranishi. Each piece, created especially by Kenji for Museum of Brisbane, is inspired by the momentary interplay of light on the urban landscape. Both exhibitions are free and open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, tasty lunch or post gallery visit drink, we suggest checking out Brew or Super Whatnot in Burnett Lane, Red Hook or Brooklyn Standard.
