Little Orphan Annie is visiting QPAC

With singing, dancing and a plotline that could melt the coldest of hearts, the Australian production of Annie the Musical is set to delight theatre-fans when it hits Brisbane.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you should be well acquainted with the classic musical production. The story follows Annie, a young but precocious redhead who, after being abandoned at birth, is raised in cruel Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. From there we follow Annie’s adventures in finding her birth parents, and the characters she meets along the way.

The musical is based on the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie and is a true piece of musical history – the original play was shown on Broadway in 1977, since then it has played to more than 22 countries worldwide.

From April 7, QPAC will host the Queensland leg of Annie, The Musical. Starring in this national tour is theatre veteran Anthony Warlow, as well as notable names Nancye Hayes, Julie Goodwin and Todd McKenney. With its catchy musical numbers, the production could be the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your singing skills – joining in with the cast for classics It’s a Hard-Knock Life and Tomorrow. For your slice of the action buy your tickets from QPAC.
