Let’s Get It On to the music of Marvin Gaye at Brisbane Powerhouse
Two of Australia’s most soulful performers will be taking on the extensive back catalogue of one of the music’s most beloved voices in Let’s Get It On: The Life and Music of Marvin Gaye.
The moving power of music was evidenced throughout the career of Marvin Gaye, the US born singer and songwriter. Hailed as the number-one purveyor of soul music, Gaye inspired romance and political activism amongst the legions of fans he amassed in the 1960s and 1970s. Long after Marvin Gaye’s death, thousands of musicians cite his work as inspiration for their own creations and fans the world over similarly adore his legendary output.
From August 5–8, two of Australia’s most recognisable soul singers will join forces to perform a collection of Marvin Gaye’s hits in Let’s Get It On: The Life and Music of Marvin Gaye. Vika Bull and Australia’s Got Talent winner Andrew De Silva will perform classic tunes including ‘Sexual Healing’, ‘I Heard It Through the Grapevine’, ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, and ‘What’s Going On’.
