Get your green on at LEAF this Sunday
Sure, a Sunday filled with live music, cooking classes, workshops and delicious eats will make you feel great … but you’ll feel even better knowing that you’re also helping the environment.
This Sunday June 5 is your chance to be a local eco hero, and have yourself some fun in the process. From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Logan Eco Action Festival (LEAF) will take over Griffith University’s Logan Campus to encourage local action with a global impact. In conjunction with World Environment Day, this free community festival is both interactive and educational (in a fun way, we promise), and aims to stimulate awareness about our surrounds and empower attendees to make a positive change.
Thinking global and acting local isn’t just picking up rubbish and planting trees. At LEAF you can join in on cheese making and kimchi workshops, enhance your wellbeing at free meditation and yoga classes, and learn how to up-cycle unwanted items. Kids can visit the adrenaline zone filled with rock climbing, jumping castles, giant slides and more, and marvel at science and wildlife presentations. When you’re feeling a bit weary, take your pick from the selection of healthy and organic food stalls, stroll through the eco markets or kick back to the sounds of Tijuana Cartel, The Twine and the Hanlon Brothers.
