Lamentation provokes discussion at The Hold Artspace

Using condemned hospital linens (hospital laundry fabrics that have become unfit for use and are destined for incineration) at its base, Lamentation is a solo exhibition by Karike Ashworth. Exhibiting at The Hold Artspace in West End, this new body of work is informed by the systems, processes and emotions surrounding death and dying, and the shared anonymity between the linens and terminally ill hospital patients. The opening evening will also feature a panel discussion on the topic of ‘inquiries into the private made public’. The exhibition runs July 16–19, with the opening night this Thursday July 17.
