Lady Electronica

Favour the sounds of synth at Lady Electronica

With a shared passion for electronic melody, four Brisbane girls will join together for two nights of technology-ridden performance. Lady Electronica Live is a fiesta of audiovisual experimentation and display, reaching arts haven the Judith Wright Centre this weekend.

Anise (Carly Dickenson), Donna Hewitt, Rose Carrousel (Heidi Millington) and Michelle Xen join forces for an evening that merges technology and sound. New songs will be played, as well as collaborations, all amidst the tantalising visual display of media artist Wade Marynowsky.

Anise will be releasing her new single, in the same style of her previous releases – expect her to harness plenty of sampling and stutter effects over trip-hop. Michelle Xen will also be debuting a new release. Playing with her band The Neon Wild, Michelle partners big bass and synth sounds in Synaesthesiac.

Lady Electronica will also give Brisbane residents the chance to reacquaint themselves with Donna Hewitt. She has only recently returned to Brisbane after extensive international performances, involving her favourite glitch ambient electronics and granular vocals. Also showcasing her unique experimentation with electronica is Rose Carrousel. The night will offer the artist a chance to premiere her invention the NatureTron, which fuses folk and electronic.

@ Judith Wright Centre, November 9–10
