La Boite resurrects the ultimate villain in The Tragedy of King Richard III

Get tangled up in La Boite’s corruption-fuelled take on Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of King Richard III, where nobody gets out unscathed.

Settle in at La Boite’s Roundhouse Theatre and watch the drama unfold as the ultimate villain is excavated and resurrected in The Tragedy of King Richard III. Playing from May 21 to June 11, the 80-minute adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic is a relentless and gritty autopsy on the perception of Richard III, in which audiences will never see this historical character in the same light again.

The notable cast features Naomi Price (of The Voice Australia fame), Helen Howard (La Boite’s The Glass Menagerie, Hamlet), Pacharo Mzembe (La Boite’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Prize Fighter) and Amy Ingram (QTC’s I Want to Know What Love Is).

The Tragedy of King Richard III is co-written by two of Queensland’s most intrepid theatre makers: Daniel Evans (winner – Queensland Premier’s Drama Award 2014/2015) and Marcel Dorney (winner Queensland Premier’s Drama Award 2010/2011). If you like your theatre fast, furious and blood-soaked, this production is for you.
