Awaken your senses at the Korean Cultural Festival
South Korea has a culture that is as fascinating as it is distinctive. Everything from the delicious eats to the pure opulence of the K-pop music scene is a reflection of this diverse nation that has a lot to offer the rest of the world. On Saturday August 13, King George Square will transform into a folk wonderland ripe for exploration for the 2016 edition of the Korean Cultural Festival.
The Korean Cultural Festival brings a sample of the most exciting components of authentic South Korean life right into the heart of Brisbane, inviting both natives who are hungry for a taste of home and those who are just curious to experience a new perspective to immerse themselves in this culture. The day is dedicated to showcasing the many iconic features of traditional and contemporary Korean culture, drawing on the past and present to create a fully rounded experience. The Korean Society of Queensland has been busy planning its biggest and best event yet, as the festival’s popularity has skyrocketed over the years.
The free entry event decorates King George Square with stacks of family fun and entertainment throughout the day. Some of the offerings include live music and performances such as pan-sori (traditional Korean singing), K-pop dance (AO Crew and P4pero), taekwondo, children’s activities and so much more. It wouldn’t be a festival without food, and the Korean Society of Queensland really know how to put on a great spread. The square will be studded with a great selection of food stalls that are bursting with the most authentic Korean cuisine made using traditional methods and lots of love.
