Rock and roll reminiscence with Jersey Boys, QPAC

Coming to Brisbane this weekend is the worldwide success that is the musical story of pop group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The Italian-American foursome rose from an otherwise average life toiling away in New Jersey to dizzying international success, leaving countless hit songs in their wake.

With the group now inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Jersey Boys musical charts the rise of its four members – Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. The boys’ story reads like a fairytale, in which a group of blue-collar kids from the wrong side of the tracks managed to become one of America’s best-loved musical gropus. Starting out in the 1960s, the band wrote an incredible number of hits including ‘Sherry’, ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Oh What A Night’ and ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.’

While the group started out with the controversial name The Four Lovers, they soon evolved into The Four Seasons with young Frankie taking lead vocals. After achieving countless awards and selling more than 175 million records around the world, the story of the gang’s beginnings has now been turned into a much-loved musical, which has played in just about every country around the globe. From July 13 the performance will arrive in Brisbane to play QPAC’s Lyric Theatre and fill the auditorium with some of the band’s most beloved hit singles.
