James Street Food & Wine Trail announces its delicious 2018 program

It’s time to don your most chic stretchy pants – the annual James Street Food & Wine Trail is back for its seventh year! Over two jam-packed days, the James Street precinct will play host to a plethora of foodie goodness, and The Weekend Edition is joining in on the fun to bring you two very special events.

Block out your calendars for July 28–29 – you’re going to need to dedicate the entire weekend to eating. This year’s James Street Food & Wine Trail program has just dropped and its safe to say it’s certainly going to satisfy all of your cravings, with a smorgasbord of eats spread over two delicious days. The event kicks off on Saturday July 28 with Trail Day, including the MINI Tailgate Party in James Lane, Harveys Bar + Bistro collaborating with Bee One Third, and for one weekend only, Gerard’s Bistro will be bringing back its coveted breakfast menu. To celebrate its triumphant (and fleeting) return, The Weekend Edition has teamed up with the Gerard’s team to host an exclusive cocktail breakfast banquet. The event will be held in Gerard’s brand-new private dining space and styled by our friends at west elm, who will also be giving away some exciting prizes on the day. Subscribe to The Weekend Edition to find out how you can win tickets!

Sunday July 29 will see the much-loved Market Day return, with more than 23 James Street vendors serving up delectable bites from pop-up restaurants under the street’s Moreton Bay fig canopy. From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm the street will be abuzz with live music, foodie demonstrations in the ILVE pop-up kitchen, pop-up bars and mouth-watering eats – think Middle Eastern fish burgers, wagyu and porcini pies, lamb souvla and more. Plus, this year The Weekend Edition is partnering with west elm to host a special garden party, where you can create a one-of-a-kind terrarium to take home with help from green thumbs Max and Mort, and have your photo snapped at our interactive photo booth.
