Israeli Film Festival

Israeli Film Festival arrives at Palace Centro

Bringing a collection of enlightening documentaries and transfixing feature films, the 10th AICE Israeli Film Festival returns to Palace Centro Cinemas until Monday August 26.

The festival, which has been extended to include Byron Bay this year, will showcase 16 thought-provoking Israeli films during its Fortitude Valley leg. Films will include such inspiring features as A Bottle in the Gaza Sea, Big Bad Wolves, Eagles and Out in the Dark.

Monday August 26 will mark the festival’s closing-night event, with a screening of Exodus – the 1960 film that chronicles the formation of the State of Israel and stars Paul Newman. Pre-film beverages will be served, courtesy of Devil’s Corner, and the film will be shown from 7:30 pm with one intermission. As well as being a celebration of Israeli’s film works, the 10th AICE Israeli Film Festival allows moviegoers to appreciate the culture of this fascinating nation, through such documentaries as The Gate Keepers, Israel: A Home Movie, and The Lesson.
