Nurture your creative side at the Inspire Festival

If you’ve ever had an idea that you’ve never had the courage to pursue, consider heading along to the Brisbane Powerhouse to hear some inspiring talks from people who took the plunge on chasing their dreams.

We have all been asked that simple question – what would be your dream job? Sure, it’s all fun and games to fantasise, to picture changing the world for the better, but not enough of us ever actively attempt to make those dreams a reality. The Inspire Festival has been created to invoke positive action and change, encouraging people to take their life in their hands and make a difference. On June 17 and 18, the Brisbane Powerhouse will be hosting a program of sessions featuring a range of speakers who are thought-leaders in their fields – people who have taken action to pursue an idea that they thought would be of benefit to others.

The three sessions are divided into three topics – inspiring talk, inspiring democracy and inspiring drive. Talk delves into the advent of social media and the lost art of conversation, while Democracy examines the forthcoming election and the ideas behind voting with our heads or our hearts, and Drive talks about inspiration, dreams and the determination to capitalise on both. Speakers at the Inspire Festival include Stan Grant, Robin Bailey, Jan Owen AM, Eyal Halamish, Dr Lorann Downer, Michael Ross, Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett from Orange Sky Laundry and Catherine McGregor AM. Head to the Brisbane Powerhouse website to purchase tickets to your preferred session and start putting your dreams into reality.
