Innovation Award calls for Brisbane’s bright sparks

Brisbane’s creative community will be prodded and praised over the new year as applications open for the Brisbane City Council’s Innovation Award.

Brisbane’s creative workforce is being encouraged to generate new ideas and share them with the community, as part of the $25,000 Innovation Award. The 2014–15 round opened for applications this week, calling for Brisbane artists, arts workers, producers, curators, collectives and arts or creative organisations working in any art form or creative industry to pitch their ideas.

As an initiative of Brisbane City Council, the Innovation Award aims to encourage Brisbane’s creative workforce and innovative enterprise, ultimately strengthening our creative economy. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch at the Rhizome: creative arts symposium in March next year, at which the winner will be decided. Applications close at midnight on Monday 12 January 2015, with shortlisted applicants being notified by mid-February 2015. Find more information and submit your application online.
