Human Rights Arts & Film Festival returns to Brisbane

While film and the arts have the power to influence the way we see the world, it can also heighten our awareness of the plight of those who are less fortunate in our global community. The Human Rights Arts & Film Festivals national tour is set to return to Brisbane Powerhouse, showcasing a small collection of fascinating films from around the world, centred on human strength and resilience. Featured films will include Rich Hill, a film following the struggles of three teenage boys dealing with poverty, broken families and mental illness; Everyday Rebellion, a documentary about using the body as a non-violent tool in protest; and Light Fly, Fly High, a film that follows the journey of a professional female boxer in India who faces her greatest battles outside the ring. You can see these films and a host of others at the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival, June 3–5.
