Support Brisbane’s comic community on Pozible

Brisbane is renowned for its creative denizens, and the city has now become somewhat of a hive of creative activity. Amongst these imaginative citizens is a growing community dedicated to the comic book.

While you may not be the owner of a comic book, the hard work and talent that goes into the production of each piece is easy to appreciate from just a glimpse of a cover. First ideas are formed, before being expertly crafted and inked onto a piece of paper to share amongst fans.

Like any creative profession, finding the funding to create a comic book can be tough. In response, three members of this burgeoning community – Stuart McMillen, Alexis Sugden and Zac Smith-Cameron – have banded together to help kickstart their comic-book careers. Their Pozible campaigns give fans of each artist, or even just generous community folk, the chance to support some homegrown talent and get them one step closer to production. Each individual offers a very different style to their work, and is working to a different financial deadline and goal – take a look for yourself with each cartoonist’s independent page.

Stuart McMillen’s deadline for creation Rat Park is at 1:00 pm this Thursday November 1. If you wish to pledge to his cause, pop over here today.
