Meet the makers at the Hawthorne Garage Carpark Party

Coming into its fourth year, the annual Hawthorne Garage Carpark Party is back bigger and better than ever before on Saturday August 20. More than just a celebration, the Garage crew use the party as a vessel to say thanks to the community that makes their business thrive.

From humble beginnings as a shindig held to commend the success of the business, the Hawthorne Garage Carpark Party has evolved into a colourful tapestry of celebration and education. The event has flourished into a day-long festival where customers and community members alike are invited to ‘meet the maker’ – local suppliers of the fresh artisan produce on offer at Hawthorne Garage come together to show and tell their trade secrets. It’s a fascinating insight into the stories behind the products, and the team at the Garage are passionate about giving their customers this chance to chat straight to the source of their stock.

There is a whole host of events happening this year on top of all the usual fun and festivities, with one of the highlights being a cook-off hosted by celebrity chef and local legend Matt Golinski. Kids will get a chance to show off their budding Masterchef skills with a child-friendly cooking competition taking place in the afternoon. The food situation is set to be amazing, with a focus on local suppliers serving up fresh and tasty eats for all partygoers. Live music and delicious drinks add to the party vibe, with a jumping castle and face painting on offer for the more junior revellers. The action all starts at midday and is set to carry on into the night, so get down early to take advantage of all the cool offerings.
