Tantalising fare, local tipples and live tunes await at Hampton Festival
Food lovers, rejoice! A highlight of Southeast Queensland’s events calendar, Hampton Festival is returning for its 19th edition on Sunday May 16. Culinary thrill-seekers can expect top-tier eats, live music, lively libations and much, much more. Here’s what you can fit on to your plate while you’re visiting the quaint town of Hampton …
Held at Chapman Park (just 32 km north from Toowoomba), Hampton Festival is loved by locals and visitors alike for its celebration of fresh regional produce and emerging artists. This year there will be a mammoth line-up of more than 65 market stalls that will spotlight only the best of the region’s produce, wineries and providore. There will also be an onsite produce market (hello, farm-fresh autumn veggies!). This year, the festival will feature a brand-new Growers On The Green precinct, where locals can meet and interact with regional producers, learn their paddock-to-plate stories and watch live demonstrations.
The foodie fun doesn’t stop there. To keep you and the little ones entertained there will be live beats performed by local musicians ELA, The Mama Dukes, Special Guest and Dear Prudence, as well as children’s workshops and activities like puppet shows and painting classes. For those who want to sate their creative hunger well, the Hampton Art Exhibition will be showcasing the works of prominent and emerging artists living within a 50 kilometre radius of Hampton, and the festival’s demonstrating artists program will see regional artists teach event-goers some tips and techniques of the trade.
Tickets for Hampton Festival are available now for just $12 per person (booking fees apply) with children under 12 free. To snag your tickets to this decadent event, visit the Hampton Festival website. Remember to bring your esky!
