goa billboards Exhibition

See your city from a new angle on goa billboards

Now in its 16th year, the goa billboards Exhibition will once again share the photography prowess of local high school students as part of Brisbane Festival.

The free exhibition, curated by professional photographer and teaching artist Henri van Noordenburg, is hoped to reveal the city’s beauty from all angles – through the eyes of budding photographers. The displayed photographic works will be featured in the public gallery of the Judith Wright Centre and on goa’s digital billboards around the city.

The goa billboards Exhibition project also presented 11 schools with free in-school photography workshops for senior students, facilitated by Henri. The students were then encouraged to submit original images under the theme of ‘Brisbane Parks: Garden Cities and Urban Jungles’, which provoked students to take images filled with lush greenery, vibrant colours and natural landscapes. Brisbane Festival panellists sorted through the entrants’ images to find the best submissions from each participating school. The exhibition will run from September 17–28 in the venue’s Shopfront space.
