When it comes to cooling down and chilling out in Brisbane’s scorching summer heat, few things hit the spot quite like a damn fine gin. Whether you like it with tonic and lime or fancied up in a cocktail, this versatile spirit is really having a moment as of late – and we’re definitely not complaining. If you have a soft spot for this delicious staple, we have an event that’s sure to make your mouth water – Ginuary is hitting Covent Garden on Thursday January 25 to bring a stellar selection of sips and bites dedicated to everyone’s favourite botanical beverage.

It’s no secret that you, our dear readers, go a little bit nuts for gin. When West End’s dedicated gin haven and cocktail haunt Covent Garden opened back in November last year, it swiftly secured its status as the place to go for all things botanical. This lush space is a perfect fit for Ginuary, a brand-new event landing just in time for the Australia Day long weekend. Taking over the venue’s breezy garden space, the one-night-only affair will see bartenders whipping up a killer range of cocktails alongside classic G&T’s for patrons to enjoy. Beverages will be paired with delicious bites throughout the night, because we all know drinking on an empty stomach is just downright irresponsible.

What exactly can you expect at Ginuary, you ask? A whole host of deliciousness, as it turns out. The very appealingly priced $39 ticket nabs you entry to the event, a swish Archie Rose cocktail on arrival, as well as canapes served throughout the night – think juniper-smoked salmon, manchego profiteroles, and pork dumplings with black vinegar. Following your welcome beverage, there will be a dizzying range of Archie Rose Signature Dry cocktails up for purchase including the likes of the Crime of Passion, a mix of Archie Rose, lime, lemon, fresh passionfruit, sugar, and Crème de Mare.

Feeling ginspired? You can nab your tickets to Ginuary through Covent Garden’s official website.
