Ghost Stories: Spirits, Hauntings and Worlds Beyond is bringing scary flicks to GOMA

With Halloween just around the corner, now is the perfect time to snuggle up with some popcorn and turn your favourite horror movie on. Those who like a good scare can get their heebie-jeebies fix at Ghost Stories: Spirits, Hauntings and Worlds Beyond, GOMA’s new film program that explores the vibrant legacy of cinematic spectres. From September 10 to November 28, this program will showcase more than a century of supernatural tales that are sure to get your heart pumping.

From films about haunted houses that creak in the night to tales of wicked poltergeists, some of cinematic’s greatest treasures have stayed with us well after we watched them (kind of like an eerie presence). GOMA’s newest cinema program, Ghost Stories: Spirits, Hauntings and Worlds Beyond, is spotlighting all of your favourite spooky movies – plus a few lesser-known international gems that are sure to raise a few arm hairs.

Movies you can expect to find in the spirited line-up include the spine-tingling 80s horror Poltergeist, fog-shrouded gothic tale The Others, chilling ghost story The Changeling, mysterious Japanese horror Our House and supernatural animated fantasy Spirited Away. Ghost Stories is a free cinema program and movie-goers don’t need to secure tickets to attend. However, seating is still limited so it’s recommend that you arrive early to avoid disappointment. To peep the full (and in our humble opinion, terrifying) program, head over to the GOMA website.
