Hoppin’ the suburbs – where to find free treats and giant maze hunts this Easter

As much as we love Easter for the multitude of indulgent food opportunities that it opens up for us (hot cross buns for breakfast, anyone?), one of the best aspects of the holiday is the pure joy that kids get out of it. After all, most of us can cast our minds back to the magical and delicious period of our lives when chocolate eggs and rabbits were a true highlight of the year. Indooroopilly Shopping Centre has decided to harness this sentiment and channel it into a series of fun, free activities for little ones to enjoy over the Easter period.

First up, kids are invited to channel their inner Easter bunny in Indooroopilly Shopping Centre’s Giant Easter Maze. Every 15 minutes from open until close, little troupes of budding bunnies are invited to enter the labyrinth and fill a basket with delicious chocolate eggs – it’s like your traditional egg hunt, but on a much larger scale. If you know you’re heading to the centre you can book ahead through Eventbrite, but not to worry if you’ve hopped by unannounced – there’s always room for walk-ins if you’re patient.

For something a little more long game – perfect for if you need to keep kids engaged while making multiple stops at the centre – there’s a free Easter bunny hunt to take advantage of. There will be 21 adorable giant bunnies dotted around the centre, each decorated by a local kindy or school – kids are invited to collect an Easter Bunny Hunt passport from the pop-up desk near the giant maze and stamp off locations as they find the critters. Those who manage to locate all of the buns will be treated to a free Easter surprise – so make sure the kids have had plenty of carrots (we hear they’re great for eyesight).

Want to get in on the fun? You can find out more about Indooroopilly Shopping Centre’s Easter fun at the centre’s website – hop to it!
