FLOWN defies gravity at Brisbane Festival

FLOWN defies gravity at Brisbane Festival

There’s only one piece of advice provided to audience members of Brisbane Festival’s FLOWN: Expect the unexpected.

You’ll have to try exceedingly hard not to be entertained by FLOWNthe award-winning show from internationally acclaimed (and cleverly named) contemporary circus company Pirates of the Carabina. With an exuberant soundtrack bursting with live music, the chaotic yet hilarious show provides audiences a glimpse into the absurd antics that go on backstage in contemporary circus life.

It’s as entertaining as a soap opera – disagreements, fear and exhaustion threatening to sabotage the spectacle, and catastrophe always looming nearby – and the drama is intensified by the motley crew of incredible acrobats, aerialists, musicians and stuntmen. Redefining the conventional notion of a circus, FLOWN is sure to captivate the whole family as it fills the rafters of the Courier-Mail Piazza at South Bank as part of Brisbane Festival on Friday September 11.
