This iconic laneway will become a treasure-chest of artisan goodies for the Fish Lane Markets

If we could describe a perfect Saturday morning, the day’s itinerary would probably consist of coffee, a fresh pastry (or two) and some market strolling. Well, weekend-chasers, there’s a new destination where you can do all three – Fish Lane’s Town Square. Next month, the southside haven of food and arts will become home to Fish Lane Markets, a brand-new artisan shopping experience that will fill up your Saturday. Remember to bring along your tote bag!

This is your official reminder to save the date for Sunday April 11, as that’s when Fish Lane’s Town Square will welcome shoppers for the inaugural Fish Lane Markets. Brought to us by The Market Folk – the same team behind the beloved Gasworks and Portside markets  – the Fish Lane Markets promises to be a fun-filled day showcasing top-notch goodies from independent local makers and designers.

From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, shoppers can expect to browse a range of locally-made treasures including ceramics, art, accessories (both the human and pet variety), plants, natural skincare and more. There will be eye-catching jewellery pieces from Rebellious Grace, picture-perfect art from Grotti Lotti, fresh looks from MUSE STORE, eco-friendly products from My Eco House and decadent sweets courtesy of Baked by M&G. If you’re thirsty for a brew or craving some bigger bites, it’s also the perfect excuse to pop into your favourite Fish Lane eateries – grab a coffee from Cups on Melbourne, munch on a breakfast baguette from Kiki or indulge in a feast of Asian-inspired eats at Chu The Phat. Details for the second instalment on Sunday June 6 are still to come, so stay tuned for more information.
