Fish Lane Festival brings show-stopping eats, beats and bevs to South Brisbane
Gourmands and groovers, listen up – Fish Lane Festival is returning to South Brisbane for its fourth outing, bringing an expanded entertainment and foodie smorgasbord for 2019. Casting a wide net (we’re talking 17 unique performers and 11 concept bars), the now-iconic festival invites punters to drink, dine, dance and discover all that Fish Lane has to offer from midday until 10:00 pm.
Festival-goers will be able to flow along a steady stream of gourmet street eat stalls and pop-up bars while getting down to some of Brisbane’s best emerging live bands and DJs at Fish Lane Festival. For all the foodies, this line-up is one that can’t be missed – you’ll find gourmet eats from The Fox Hotel, Billykart, Gelato Messina, Grass Fed, Julius Pizzeria and Birds Nest Yakitori to name a few. Complimenting the carefully curated edible line-up is a selection of premium pop-up bars serving craft cocktail, beer, wine and spirits. It wouldn’t be a festival without crowd-favourite bars like the Pimms Kombi, Espresso Martini bar and Tanqueray Gin Jungle, all serving up sips to satiate any thirst.
This year will see the introduction of the Somersby Jazz Stage, bursting with local talent and more bars. Ella Haber will christen the new stage, followed by local jazz queen Adelina Martinez. The Colonial Brewing Co. Main Stage overlooks the new Hope Street dining precinct, playing acoustic sounds with ridiculously smooth vocals from artists such as Graham Moes and Mark Lowndes. As the sun starts to set, the Charlie Mac trio will get people up and dancing with interpretations of everyone’s favourite 90s r’n’b and pop hits. After sundown, the tunes will get a bit groovier and kick the night into high gear, with sets from First Beige and many other artists. For those wanting something more relaxing, Cork & Chroma will be offering Sip & Paint workshops. You can create your own masterpiece to take home, while sipping on whatever tickles your fancy. Places are strictly limited – we recommend booking your place in advance.
