Chuckle along to #FirstWorldWhiteGirls at Judith Wright Centre

Unwelcome iTunes updates, matches left hanging on Tinder, the shame of a bad spray tan – these are the problems of #FirstWorldWhiteGirls.

Tapping into our era’s social media habits and generally solemn attitudes towards life in the rather well-positioned first world, #FirstWorldWhiteGirls takes to the Judith Wright Centre stage this week from Wednesday July 23 until Saturday July 26. Exploring life’s real challenges – a wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear, feeling hangry but not knowing what you want to eat, constantly forgetting your computer password – this comedic cabaret taps into the shallow reality of being a white girl in the second millennium.

Having first premiered the show in Melbourne last month, creators Judy Hainsworth and Kaitlin Oliver Parker will present this rollercoaster of original comic songs, drawing on their own privileged upbringings and private-school educations to shape this den of first-world pain.
