Christmas in Brisbane City

Embrace Christmas early this year

The sounds of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas’ are starting to echo about town, the trees are being pulled from their hibernations and, most importantly, the parties are being planned. It’s hard not to transform into a Christmasphile as December approaches.

Twelve days of Christmas? We’ll take a whole month please. If you’re planning an extra-long festive season, then you’ll find yourself in good company in the city, where Christmas is starting to descend. Myer has already dressed and revealed its annual window display, and Santa and his team of photographers are moving into David Jones on Saturday – ready to partake in the tradition of family photos.

After he has settled in at QueensPlaza, Santa will then stroll across to King George Square on November 29 to watch the city’s Christmas tree light up, officially heralding the start of the season when Christmasphiles can finally don their festive-themed t-shirts and rush into a gift-buying frenzy.
