The Royal Queensland Show is gearing up to blast back into the Brisbane Showgrounds this month, bringing food, fun and festivity to all ages.

From the giant pumpkins of the horticulture competitions to the famous strawberry sundaes of the food stalls, the Royal Queensland Show is set to bring smiles to faces across Brisbane this month. Kicking off tomorrow, Friday August 7 and running to Sunday August 16, the 138th Ekka will bring animals, entertainment, exhibitions, rides, showbags, fashion, education and of course plenty of nosh to the Brisbane Showgrounds in Bowen Hills.

Sideshow Alley will offer up rollercoasters, bungy trampolines and a 9-D cinema, while competition categories cross from cats and canines to bush poetry and beef. The Country Music Showdown Competition will unearth some of the state’s most promising musical talent, while both kids and adults will be able to enjoy a wide variety of live entertainment from music to fashion parades. EkkaNITES will bring classic show favourites like sheepdogs and woodchop competitions, as well as the X-treme Action Show featuring The Transformers, live music and the massive fireworks finale.
