A great way to get into the Easter spirit while tiring out the little ones is with an Eggventure in The City. Those loveable Bananas in Pyjamas will be busting out live entertainment in the Queen Street Mall with two stage shows daily at 10:00 am and 11:00 am from Monday April 13 to Sunday April 19. Across the river, South Bank is holding action-packed Little Days Out for youngsters from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm every Thursday and Sunday. The free activities are suitable for a range of ages, from an Easter Extravaganza this Sunday April 5 to dance classes the following Thursday and street science workshops the next Sunday. Find a detailed program for April online.

If the kids need to burn some energy over the school holidays, enrol them in a workshop with Flipside Circus. Choose from one-, three- or five-day courses and those little balls of enthusiasm are sure to bring home some impressive tricks. Find more information about the workshops online. East in Murarrie, the Monster Slide will be arriving in Brisbane for the first time this Easter weekend, with family friendly, open and night-slider sessions available from Friday through to Sunday. The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is giving littlies the opportunity to get close to 20 life-size beasts at Walking With Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular, while the holidays will be the last chance kids can get creative at the Gallery of Modern Art’s interactive exhibition The obliteration room. Around the corner in South Bank, the State Library of Queensland also has some great activities on offer, including regular sessions of Hickory Dickory Rock with Tim Jackman and It’s Rhyme Time.
