Eagle Street Pier has reopened – here’s where to sate your appetite while supporting the riverside locale

It’s been a truly chaotic start of the year for hospitality venues, and one precinct that has been hit particularly hard is Eagle Street Pier. The waterfront entertainment and dining destination was a victim of the recent floods but, with some TLC, Eagle Street Pier is once again open to visitors. Eager to get out and support this beloved local? Here are some tasty offers to sink your teeth into this month …

Monday January 7 saw Eagle Street Pier welcome customers once again following its closure due to the recent and very devastating floods. Now the doors are open, the tables are set and all you need to do is scoot to get a seat to take advantage of some seriously sizzling food offers. Kick off the culinary adventure with a visit to COPPA, where from 5:00 pm you can sip on spritzes and nibble on delicious Italian snacks such as burrata, cold cuts and arancini as part of Apertivo Hour. Time-poor folk looking for something more substantial can indulge in the Pranzo Espresso lunch and early dinner menu, which features two ($48) or three ($58) courses of flavour-packed fare to lap up. Famished foodies can also mosey on over to Rico Bar & Dining for some weekday tipples and tapas for $59 per person. This feast for the senses includes natural oysters, braised pork belly, grilled lamb ribs, beer-battered barramundi tacos, flash-fried calamari, as well as a bottle of wine or a jug of sangria or beer.

For delectable bites of the German variety, head to The Bavarian to fill your belly with a schnitzel of your choice (the loaded bangers and mash with crumbed chicken breast, cheese kransky, creamy mash, caramelised onion and gravy is our favourite), a pretzel and beer or wine for $35. More affordable eats await at Mediterranean flavour haven George’s Paragon, which is feeding hungry folk for less with its all-day half-price menu. Oysters, mussels and lobster, here we come! Sanook Sundays at Naga Thai continues to pack weekends with tastebud-tempting fare like coconut and turmeric pork-shoulder curry, five-spice duck noodle rolls, and coconut prawns with truffle and curry mayonnaise. For levelled up libations and lip-smacking snacks, look no further than Mr & Mrs G Riverbar, which is offering an artisan high-tea experience by the river every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Think free-flowing Moët & Chandon, gin cocktails and moreish finger food – a pretty special weekend feast, if you’re asking us.
