Gourmet pop-up Dîner en Blanc Brisbane announces its fourth instalment

A mystery location, guests dressed in glamorous white, feasting and dancing under the stars – annual pop-up picnic Dîner en Blanc Brisbane will return this year for its fourth rendition. The Weekend Edition is excited to be partnering with Dîner en Blanc again for 2015 and to announce the date of the next soiree!

In 1988, François Pasquier held a dinner in Paris to reconnect with friends. He asked his dining pals to convene at the Bois de Boulogne, dressed in white so they could all find each other in the Parisian outskirts. Each year, the word-of-mouth dinner grew, with close to 15,000 white-clad guests now meeting annually in Paris’ public spaces. This annual gastronomic affair has since spread worldwide, with more than 60 events popping up across the globe.

Come Saturday October 17, diners dressed head-to-toe in all-white garb will converge at a surprise public location in Brisbane for the fourth annual pop-up picnic Dîner en Blanc Brisbane. Last year’s frivolous soiree saw 2000 people take over the picturesque Roma Street Parkland for an evening of gourmet fare, celebratory chatter, live music and dancing.

Melding food, wine, fashion and late-night galavanting, Dîner en Blanc Brisbane invites diners to bring their own tables and chairs, fine china, silverware and table adornments to craft a white-hued evening of elegant wining and dining. This year, patrons can BYO epicurean feast or opt for food partner Cuisine on Cue to prepare a gourmet hamper for them. Wine and champagne can be purchased in advance from local Sirromet Wines, which will be available for collection on the night.

Registrations are now open to join the waiting list in order to be amongst the lucky locals to secure tickets – last year’s event sold out in a matter of days. You can subscribe to The Weekend Edition for further updates, as well as an exciting Dîner en Blanc Brisbane competition coming soon!
