Dine BNE City – a month-long celebration of eating, drinking and merrymaking – returns this June

Over 30 days, some of Brisbane’s best restaurants and bars will be turning it on for one of the biggest drinking- and dining-centric celebrations on the social calendar. Transforming The City into an epicentre of epicurean extravagance for all of June, Dine BNE City will celebrate the vibrancy of Brisbane’s food scene with a jam-packed program of more than 110 offers and events, including exclusive set-menu lunches, sensational supper soirees, cocktail-chasing bar hopping and one-off dining experiences. The full Dine BNE City program drops today – here are the highlights …

Brisbane’s dining scene as a whole is in a great place right now, but the inner city is where things are really heating up. Between new dining concepts from interstate heavyweights and brilliant bars from cocktail-savvy drink makers to continuing excellence from long-standing institutions, Brisbane City’s star continues to rise. Few foodie festivals throw the city centre’s offering into sharp relief quite like Dine BNE City, a month-long showcase of everything great about The City’s restaurants and bars. Back for its third year, Dine BNE City is dedicating the month of June to the hub’s best eats and drinks, with a program encompassing more than 70 venues and over 110 exclusive offers and special experiences running from June 1–30. Like its previous iterations, Dine BNE City’s program will be handily divided into four distinct categories, each offering something for diners of all tastes.

This year the fun will start with Dine BNE City’s official launch event on Thursday June 1 – FIRESIDE: Food & Wine – a ticketed affair held at St Stephen’s Cathedral grounds featuring exclusive bites and party tunes. The daily program unfurls from there, with the Let’s Do Lunch series shining a light on Brisbane City’s daytime dining offering, including native burger meals at Birrunga Gallery and Dining, a five-course lunch banquet at riverside newcomer Tillerman, noodles and nibbles at Jumbo Thai, and plates of pasta (and a glass of wine or two) at Massimo Restaurant & Bar. As the sun sets on The City’s skyscrapers, some of the inner-city’s iconic restaurants will set their tables for Dine BNE City’s Supper Club. Take in an Ottoman-inspired feast at waterfront wonder Babylon, a petit banquet at stately blush-hued eatery Donna Chang, or a yum cha experience for two at Longtime Yum Cha. If aperitivo spritzes and tasting plates at Banc Brasserie, oysters and champagne at Rothwell’s Bar & Grill, and whisky flights and wagyu skewers at Bar 1603 take your fancy, then you’d best get ready for Bar Safari. This drinks-centric portion of the program will see a bunch of The City’s best boozers pouring out lip-smacking libations all month long, so get thirsty.

The final component of Dine BNE City’s program is also its most attention-grabbing. A range of exclusive ticketed events – ranging from luxurious repasts to culinary collaborations – will showcase Brisbane City’s restaurants at their best. This year, gourmands can snag a seat at events like Madame Wu’s Coldstream Hills Wine DinnerSettimo’s Cena di Famiglia dinner hosted by Guy Grossi and head chef Alessandro Pizzolato, Walter’s x e’cco Collaborative Dinner (a mid-week collab between Walter’s Steakhouse and e’cco Bistro), and the Urban Wine Walk – a self-guided wine trail that weaves through The City’s laneways, stopping at a number of watering holes along the way.

Dine BNE City’s full program is now online for you to devour – hit the website and start plotting all the meals you’ll be enjoying in June.
