Salute the Starman at David Bowie: Nothing Has Changed

This year has been a particularly rough one in the realm of saying goodbye to some of the greatest minds in modern music. One of the most devastating departures was that of the inimitable David Bowie, and now that he’s transcended to the final astral plane we can truly say that we lost a hero. David Bowie: Nothing Has Changed is coming to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday October 1 to pay tribute to the one and only Starman, and it’s one hell of a ride.

Some of Australia’s own legendary artists have banded together to bring their own flavour to the greatest hits and iconic tunes of the master, all backed by the huge sound of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Those paying homage for David Bowie: Nothing Has Changed include iOTASteve KilbeyDeborah ConwayAdalita and Tex Perkins. The line-up of talent is rich in both diversity and experience, with their unique sounds complemented perfectly by the technical brilliance of the razor sharp orchestra.

The crew at the wheel of the Nothing Has Changed spirit ship is a dream team of conductor Guy Noble, creative director Amanda Pelman and musical director Ashley Naylor. Together, their vision has created a show that captures the best of Bowie in a career that was essentially nothing but highlights – no mean feat. Song selections from ‘Life on Mars’ to ‘Let’s Dance’ and ‘Under Pressure’ have been expertly curated to take audiences on a sonic journey through the complex landscape of a career that spanned genres and decades.

For those rebel, rebels who haven’t got tickets yet, there’s still time. The gang at Ticketek have got the scoop, so don’t miss your chance to farewell Bowie in style.
