Daffodils brings classic New Zealand music to life

When a stage production has a swag of awards to its name, it must be pretty exceptional. No wonder why Brisbane Powerhouse is thrilled to present Daffodils [inspired by true events].

By arrangement with Arts Projects Australia with support from Creative New Zealand’s Touring Australia Initiative, Brisbane Powerhouse is proud as punch to present Daffodils [inspired by true events]. Based on playwright Rochelle Bright’s parents, Daffodils [inspired by true events] tells the story of their courtship, marriage and life via theatre and music. Rochelle wanted the performance to express the personality of New Zealand and to integrate some of the songs both she and her parents grew up with. For this reason, Daffodils [inspired by true events] features an exquisite soundtrack of songs by some of New Zealand’s best-known artists including Crowded House, Bic Runga, Chris Knox, The Mint Chicks, Dave Dobbyn, The Exponents, Darcy Clay, and many more.

Starring performers Colleen Davis and Todd Emerson, this charming production runs from May 18–22 at Brisbane Powerhouse.
