Children of the revolution – CRE8 unearths the next generation of innovation

It’s a widely accepted fact that those with big dreams are the ones who hustle the hardest. We’re living in an age of what seems like endless possibility, which is the perfect breeding ground for great things to happen. When this ambition is fostered and given a platform to flourish, the world is gifted with mind-blowing creations and innovations. The next generation of trailblazers has arrived and they are here to show you what they’re made of. Landing at TAFE Queensland on Thursday November 16, CRE8 is an all-in sensory extravaganza set to delight and inspire.

So what exactly is this mysterious CRE8? It’s pretty much a huge showcase of all of the hard work that TAFE Queensland students have been toiling away at all year. The one-night-only affair brings together the school’s top chefs, designers, gamers, artists, musicians, florists, and fashionistas to display their skills to the public, resulting in a festival-like atmosphere loaded with things to see and do. Student showcases, portfolios, exhibitions and performances will collide to create a living landscape of both current skills and futuristic ideals.

CRE8 isn’t just about the visual – there are plenty of opportunities for punters to get hands-on. A huge range of interactive zones will be set up including a patisserie creation station with DIY cupcake decorating, glam hair and beauty hubs to get your festival glitter on, cycle-powered smoothies in the sweat zone and even a spot of VR car racing. There will be live music all night long to keep the vibes going, as well as the chance to watch three artists create live – and the audience picks a winner! The spread that’s on offer is to die for as well – for just a gold coin donation you can feast on street food eats prepared with awesome skill by students and teachers from across butchery, patisserie, bakery and cookery.

Want to have your mind melted? CRE8 is going down at TAFE Queensland’s South Brisbane campus from 6:00 pm on Thursday November 16 – and it’s free! You can head to the official Facebook event page and TAFE website for more information.
