Northshore Containerval Festival

Containerval lids pop open this weekend

Some things just can’t be contained, and, on Saturday November 2, Northshore Containerval Festival is set to step out of hiding. Set alongside Hamilton’s sunny banks, the new festival will see a collection of shipping containers transformed into cafes, shops and galleries for three weekends.

Jugglers Arts Space Inc. will be popping up amongst the retailers, hosting a gallery, performance and workshop space, while those with a penchant for the fine creations of local jewellery maker and ceramics artist Erin Lightfoot can visit the creative’s studio and shop space at the festival. Containerval will also unleash the artworks of Nomads Palace – an initiative that will feature indigenous art and green design products, and aims to link indigenous communities around the world through artistic excellence.

Amongst the food stalls will be a Mexican taqueria by Dalton Hospitality and Chitty Banh Bahn from My Kitchen Rules runners up Jake and Elle, along with a pop-up stem of Northshore Riverside Cafe. The Weekend Edition’s Pop-Up Hotel will be providing accommodation to a lucky group of people, and entertainment will be delivered throughout the three-week celebration. For the full line-up of events, you can visit the Containerval Facebook page.
