Westfield Chermside will kick off its food renaissance the right way with a killer Concert on the Green

We are no strangers to the fact that Westfield Chermside has been killing it lately. The retail powerhouse recently gifted Brisbane with a fashion precinct that would make even the most discerning fashionista totally dizzy and is following this up with a food offering that is equally mind-blowing. Not one to shy away from an opportunity to celebrate, the centre is throwing a party to welcome its new foodie residents to the neighbourhood. The fun all starts on Thursday June 22, but you ain’t seen nothin’ yet …

The Concert on the Green will mark the hotly anticipated opening of Westfield Chermside’s aforementioned mammoth dining precinct – you know, the one we let slip would be playing host to the likes of Betty’s Burgers, BiN 931, Kinn + Derm, Hermosa, Zeus Street Greek and Motto Motto. Trust us when we say that this concert matches the hype levels of the food announcement – none other than Brisbane’s own resident party starter Young Franco will be headlining the show with his infectious grooves. Attendees will be treated to free popcorn as they watch the show, which also marks the first lighting of the stunning Urchin installation. You certainly won’t go hungry, as more than 20 brand spankin’ new dining options will be slinging their doors open to feed the masses.

As well as the concert component, Westfield Chermside is also going all-out with opening festivities – thoughtful touches like complimentary bubbles from a pop-up Chandon bar and treat carts dishing out delicious Belgian chocolates all weekend are just the tip of the iceberg. Retailers have jumped on board to ensure that the opening will go off with a bang – Zeus Street Greek will be slinging free pitas on Saturday, Guzman y Gomez is dishing out free chips, Archer Specialty Coffee will be giving away free coffee on Saturday and Ironlak is running its own School of Art for the occasion. This is just a small taste of the celebrations happening over the four-day blitz.

To get in on all of this, be sure to head to Westfield Chermside on Thursday June 22. For full event details and times, check out the Westfield Chermside website.
