Christmas Design Market returns to QAGOMA
The silly season is slinking closer, and while your purchasing style of late may have been a tad thrill, we’re guessing that Christmas list of gifts for friends and family has not yet been sensibly completed.
Enter, the QAGOMA Christmas Design Market, running this Saturday November 30 outside GOMA. This annual marketplace of locally made wares is now in its seventh year, showcasing a surfeit of beautifully crafted jewellery, ceramics, textiles and upcycled fashion just in time for gifting the ladyfolk in your life.
The ceramic holiday cheer of market curator Kylie Johnson’s label paper boat press will be present, along with the hand-formed pieces of Erin Lightfoot, Jennifer Orland and Spun Mud. Jewellery designers Barbara Heath, Jetta’s Nest and Liana Kabel will sidle up alongside fashions from Ra Ra Superstar.
Other names to catch your eye on the day include Touch Wood Design, Zillpa, Everingham and Watson, Yardage Design, Anon and Co. and Mabina Alaka. Take a moment to browse the GOMA Store’s range of books, art and design items, or nosh on a sweet treat or two as a reward for your good Christmas shopping efforts. Make sure your wallet is well-stocked with cash, as the market has no card facilities.
