Christmas Cinema Series comes to Streets Beach at South Bank
Classic Christmas films are making their way to the big screen in South Bank, where locals can get into the festive spirit from the cool of the water or snuggled up on the sand.
When the Brisbane summer stickiness hampers our every move, we want to be submerged in a body of cool water at all times and not even social obligations can tear us away. It’s fortunate then that the smart folks at South Bank have opened up Streets Beach for the festive Christmas Cinema Series, which invites film fans to take in a flick while swimming in the water or lounging about on the sand.
Launching last night and continuing until Tuesday December 23, the series will screen family favourites like Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, The Polar Express and, of course, Home Alone. Bookings aren’t required – simply turn up with your swimmers and towel, and enjoy the film. Find film session information online.
