Pawesome times ahead with CATS at QPAC

Thirty-five years since its international debut, CATS is still going strong, and Brisbane audiences are about to find out why.

CATS – one of the longest running musicals in the world – will commence its Brisbane run at QPAC on January 29, with pop music sensation, Delta Goodrem, the headline act. In her musical theatre debut, Delta, who takes on the role of aging glamour puss Grizabella, steals the show with her powerful and stirring rendition of ‘Memory’. Joining her on stage is a talented Australian cast, who pounce, crawl, arch, tumble and leap around the stage – and in amongst the audience – with feline ease and authenticity. Up and coming talent, along with stage veterans, make up the stellar ensemble including Christopher Favaloro as Mister Mistoffelees, the cat magician; Ross Hannaford as railway cat, Skimbleshanks; and Daniel Assetta as rapping Rum Tug Tugger.

Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-time viewer, there’s no doubt you’ll be captivated by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s original score, charmed by the contemporary choreography, and mesmerised by the lavish costumes. This visual spectacular is one not to miss. Looking for dinner near QPAC? Why not take a stroll and check out Tippler’s Tap, Mister Paganini or Zeus.
