The Melbourne-based host of Spicks and Specks returns to Brisbane this week to unleash his chuckle-inducing quick wit and effortless charm on local audiences in his latest show Introducing Josh Earl. Past shows to send a ripple through Brisbane bodies have included Josh Earl is a Librarian and Josh Earl vs. The Australian Women’s Weekly Cake Book. In this new comedic performance, Josh will share hilarious stories of growing up in Tasmania and working as a librarian. Sunday September 29 brings Fresh Meat: Stand-Up Comedy & Live Improv to Southside Tea Room. Hosted by Jacob Lingard, the evening of hilarity commences at 6:30 pm at the Morningside haunt. This month’s installation will feature the comic stylings of Mitch McCutcheon, Alf Arber, Dan Rath, Nick Grimwood, Joe Shaffer and musical funnyman, Ben Knight. The tea room’s ‘mince’ challenges will test the comedians’ skills, as funny bones are flexed and improvisational quests are issued. Tickets are $5 at the door, and attendees can buy foodstuffs and beverages at the bar. more

This event – titled Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow – inspires laughter in audiences across the nation with its line-up of some of the world’s most renowned comedians, as well as some of the theatrical genre’s most recent discoveries. This year the show will be held from May 15–18 at Brisbane Powerhouse and will showcase the talents of Loretta Maine, Asher Treleaven, Nazeem Hussain, Tom Deacon and Tommy Little.
