Catch a short film at the West End Film Festival

Alfred Hitchcock once remarked, “For me, the cinema is not a slice of life, but a piece of cake.”

Whether you are like Mr Hitchcock and consider cinema to be a sweet reprieve from the world, or you feel that film offers an opportunity to reflect upon society, you are likely to discover something that takes your fancy at the West End Film Festival.

The call for entries has closed and a selection of the best short films submitted from across Australia will be showcased this Sunday at the Rumpus Cinema, located behind the Rumpus Room in West End.

At the end of the night, the judges will announce the winning films in the following three categories:

• Best film judged by industry.
• Best film judged by community.
• Best animated film.

Plan your festival itinerary by downloading the official program. There are lots of intermissions, allowing you plenty of time to duck out for a real piece of cake too.
