Catch a Nordic Midnight Sun film at GOMA

This weekend is the last chance to catch one of the Nordic masterpieces at GoMA’s Midnight Sun film program.

Featuring work from some of the most engaging and unconventional filmmakers to have emerged during the last decade, the showcased films are rich with offbeat humour, arresting cinematography and psychological subject matter.

Whether you’re up for an afternoon dose of culture or grabbing a drink and some dinner before settling in for the evening, there are screenings running at various times throughout the day and night.

Feature film Troll Hunter brings together filmmaker Andre Øvredal’s love of epic blockbusters, fantastic characters inspired by Norwegian folklore and complex monsters tweaked by his own imagination. This darkly fantastic tale is presented as surviving footage shot by a student documentary crew investigating the mysterious deaths of bears in Norway. Øvredal’s scary and funny conspiracy chiller goes deep into the woods to discover something at once scary and magical at play.
