Revellers gather for the 2015 Bulimba Festival

One of Brisbane’s most liveable suburbs is turning it on for an annual celebration of food, music and Brisbane living.

From November 9-15, Bulimba will once again host the highly anticipated Bulimba Festival. Showcasing the best of the suburb through a packed program of events, the festival will aim to bring thousands of Brisbane residents to the area over the entire week. The Bulimba Festival has been reinvented for 2015, adding even more to the itinerary for attendees to enjoy such as movie nights, pet parades, fun runs and the headline event Lunch on the Lawn, which will take place on Sunday November 15.

The festivities will launch on Monday November 9 with a bash at Barcadia Kitchen + Bar on Oxford Street, complete with great DJ sets and cheer. Several of Bulimba’s top restaurants will be tempting diners with amazing dishes for the Tasting Plate showcase on Tuesday November 10, while Saturday November 14 will see the river come to life as outriggers and sailing races run all day. Fans of furry animals will be able to enjoy a pet parade, which will be showcasing some pampered pooches at the Bulimba Golf Club, then put together some picnic supplies and a blanket and relax under the heritage-listed fig trees while listening to some of Brisbane’s best musicians at Lunch on the Lawn. The afternoon boasts a musical line-up curated by The Triffid featuring The Grates, Cheap Fakes and Avaberee. For a full list of events, head to the Bulimba Festival website and check out the program.
