Shop under the stars (and whales) at BrisStyle’s local maker markets this Christmas

If the thought of hitting the shops during the festive season is daunting, don’t worry – you’re not alone. So you can get a head start on slipping some presents beneath the Christmas tree, BrisStyle markets has two jam-packed shopping events coming up – The BrisStyle Handmade Markets and the BrisStyle Twilight Markets. Boasting handmade goodies, unique treats and live entertainment, yule love what these local maker markets have in store …

The most wonderful time of the year can also be the most stressful time when it comes to ticking off gifts on your Christmas shopping list. To help you shop up a storm (and support local makers while you’re at it), the BrisStyle Twilight Markets is returning to King George Square on Saturday November 28. This huge marketplace will be brimming with 100-percent handmade goods from more than 60 local designers. You’ll be able to wander through the stalls under the starry night sky and bag some artisanal goods – think one-of-a-kind earrings from eLKa Creative, handmade face oils from Ohh De Naturale, eye-catching artworks from Buttons Ink, cleverly crafted ceramics from Belly Fire Pottery and much more. To ignite the festive spirit, live tunes will fill the air courtesy of some talented local musicians including The Sunnybank Brass.

The market fun continues on Saturday December 12 when the BrisStyle Handmade Markets kicks off at the Whale Mall at Queensland Museum. Here you can satisfy all of your sustainable handmade shopping needs under the spectacular sea of whale sculptures. More than 70 local artisans will be setting up shop at the South Bank location, with plenty to buy for your nice (and occasionally naughty) relatives and friends. Expect to see leather wallets from Namu Leather Goods, colourful paper pots from LaLaLea Makes and bewitching jewellery pieces from Two Plums Design. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a bite to eat from the onsite cafe while enjoying the best in local live entertainment. Sounds like a perfect summer outing to us! Both of these shopping events are completely free and operate under a COVID Safe Event Plan. For more information, head here.
